In Cold Blood

By: Capote, Truman

Price: $650.00  $585.00

Quantity: 1 available

A very attractive copy of "In Cold Blood" -- the author's ninth published book. This represents the culmination of Truman Capote's long-standing desire to make a contribution toward the establishment of a serious new literary form: the Non-fiction Novel. "In Cold Blood" is a true account of a multiple murder and its consequences. All first edition "points" present, viz., "First Printing" statement, $5.95 price, 1/66 date and "Publishers of the American College Dictionary" and "The Modern Library." Sharp corners all around and dark blue topstain present. Most importantly - early book club printings utilized the original book as published but added a small round impression of the back cover. Subsequent book club printings were identified as such on the front flap. The "True" first printings do not have the BCE impression on the back boards -- this copy is therefore the "true" first printing! A few minor chips to the dustjacket and a few "spottings" on the topstain (otherwise a uniform dark blue) together with a neatly written previous owner name at the top of the half-title page are the only flaws. Overall, an extremely attractive copy of the "true" first edition/first printing.
